Pianist and composer Beata Hlavenková´s “Scintilla” is a follow-up to her previous successful and award-winning “Theodoros” solo album. It contains her new material on the border between genres, again in a thematically unified whole. Beata´s piano is augmented with different keyboards and vocal layers and each track features one or more guest musicians. Keyboardist Anders Aarum (with whom Beata also performs live), vocalist Julie Dahle Aagård and percussionist Kenneth Ekornes (known mostly for his collaboration with Mari Boine) recorded in Norway. Clarinettist Evan Ziporyn and trumpetist Ingrid Jensen (soloist of Maria Schneider Orchestra) have contributed in USA and performances of cellist Jiří Bárta and singer-guitarist Justin Lavash were recorded in Beata´s home country, Czech Republic.
